We can do it!

At Applied Tech Design, we’re a small family-run shop creating laser-cut designs for all ages and occasions. From weddings and home décor to fun family crafts, everything we make is crafted with care, creativity, and purpose—right here in our local workshop.

Our Connect Creativity kits are hands-on wood projects that spark imagination and support skill-building, available as single crafts or convenient monthly bundles with everything included.

Our Story

We’re Renee and Monique—a dynamic mother-daughter duo united by a shared love of learning, creativity, and hands-on fun. Together, we create thoughtful, skill-building projects that inspire imagination and foster growth. Whether we’re crafting personalized designs or exploring new ways to spark creativity, we’re passionate about sharing the joy of creating something meaningful for you.

Renee is a retired educator with a deep passion for technology, design, and lifelong learning. Over the course of her career, she taught across a wide range of grade levels—from Kindergarten through 8th grade, as well as middle school technology and industrial arts. Now, in her retirement, Renee channels her skills and creativity into crafting one-of-a-kind, custom laser-cut designs. As the creative force behind each product, Renee carefully designs each piece to be both beautiful and meaningful. Her commitment to quality and craftsmanship shines through in each creation. When she’s not immersed in her workshop, Renee enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and discovering new hobbies just for the joy of learning something new.

Monique is a pediatric occupational therapist who works with children in multiple school districts, helping them build essential fine motor, visual motor, and sensory processing skills. Her professional insight inspired Connect Creativity, a collection of engaging, do-it-yourself kids’ crafts offered as monthly subscriptions or individual projects. Monique’s approach is rooted in the idea that the best way to help kids learn is to play. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their two young kids, and loves finding new ways to merge creativity with purposeful learning.
